Innovia Group, Symingtons, and Allied Glass were some of the firms recognised at the British Private Equity Venture Capital Association’s (BVCA) Management Team Awards 2014 in London, this week.

Innovia Group was crowned ‘National Large Buyout Equity Backed Management Team of the Year’.

The category is open to management teams of large private equity backed companies and recognises a management team's outstanding contribution to the growth of the company, demonstrating strategic vision and development of the business

The firm was automatically entered into the National awards after winning the ‘Large Buyout Private Equity backed Management Team of the Year’ and ‘International Impact Management Team of the Year’ in the North West Region earlier this year.

David Beeby, CEO, Innovia Group, highlighted the importance of teamwork in his acceptance speech.

I have the privilege and honour to head up a team of 1,600 people.  Any success we have is as a result of the combined effort of the whole team,” he added.

Other companies to win awards were; Symingtons, ‘Best for Innovation’; and Allied Glass, ‘Large Buy-out Private Equity Backed Management Team of the Year’.

The BVCA Management Team Awards celebrate managerial excellence, and underline what an important role private equity and venture capital plays in the national economy.

They are the only awards dedicated to the management teams of UK businesses backed by private equity and venture capital.
