A chicken processing plant in the US has donated $9k of chicken to a homeless shelter after finding a misprint on its labels, before it was dispatched.
Bluefield Union Mission, in West Virginia, allegedly received the order after a worker at the factory reportedly hit the wrong key on the sell-by-date and set the machine to type 2001 instead of 2014.
FoodQualityNews.com contacted the shelter but it would not confirm which chicken processing factory it was.
Bluefield Union Mission says on its website it has been ‘serving God and the community since 1931.’
It offers meals and assistance to the homeless seven days a week.
