After a successful launch in North America, Bosch will showcase its Pack 301 IN inverted horizontal flow wrapper at FachPack 2013, along with technology to maximize product safety for manufacturers.

Designed for soft, sticky or difficult-to-handle products, Pack 301 IN places a product directly onto a feeding system with a packaging film below, so that it doesn’t touch a steel plate, preventing contamination.

It was launched in North America two years ago and is now available to European producers and comes with removable covers and catch pans below the finwheel assembly for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Growing demand

The flow wrapper is presented with the new product distribution system, a modular direct-depositing pullnose station, to gently handle a variety of products and designed for easy cleaning and maintenance,” said Christin Poenisch, manager public relations and communications, Bosch Packaging Technology.

All machines have been developed to facilitate integration with existing Bosch technology, enabling manufacturers to source all of their packaging line equipment from a single supplier.”

The company will highlight other hygienic packages at the show to address what it believes is a growing consumer demand for safer and higher quality products.

It claims manufacturers are on the look-out for technology with ‘cleanability’ to reduce downtime and contamination and FDA-certified materials, such as stainless steel, to avoid rust, which can stand up to harsh cleaning chemicals.

Surface contact

Because food constantly comes into contact with various surfaces throughout the packaging line, manufacturers should incorporate packaging equipment designed for very strict hygiene standards,” added Poenisch.

Other products on show will be Bosch intermittent VFFS baggers, which can produce a number of bag styles on a single machine, without adjusting the machine height – pillow, gusseted, stand up, flat/block bottom, doy, corner seal, and more, including zipper closure options and coffee packaging technology, where manufacturers can source all their packaging line equipment from a single supplier.

The integrated coffee packaging platform includes the KWI 6000 checkweigher to measure pack weight and to adjust over- and underfilling of the product by tendency-regulation with the auger filler.

FachPack 2013 is held from September 24- 26, in Nuremberg, Germany.
