Processors are demanding machines that can be quickly changed over for new products as a means of increasing the speed of their responses to consumers' changing demands.
Netherlands-based Langenpac said its "Breeze" and "Vento" machines are designed in intermittent and continuous motion versions.
They are constructed of stainless steel, have servo driven movements. The machines have pre-sized templates, allowing plants to change over to other carton sizes quickly.
Both offer speeds of up to 80 cartons per minute in the intermittent motion version or up to 250 cartons per minute in the continuous motion version. Carton sizes can have up up to a 9 inch pitch.
The first two machines have already been ordered and are to be delivered to an up-market biscuit manufacturer in Germany, the company said in displaying them at Anuga FoodTech earlier this month.
