Conference aims to identify latest packaging trends
Two Spanish research bodies have organised a conference in November aimed at the optimum selection of packaging materials and the latest trends and innovations for food contact materials.
The Institute for Food Research and Technology (IRTA) and The Plastic Technology Institute (AIMPLAS) will hold the event in Girona, Spain.
The conference, titled ‘New generation of food packaging’, will see case studies presented in Spanish on packaging innovations already available in the market.
It will also include an overview of the best solutions of food packaging materials which are more suitable for food preservation and in-pack processing.
Developments in plastic materials including the use of biodegradable materials, active and intelligent packaging systems will be on the agenda and it will conclude with an update on food contact plastic legislation.
