Crown Cork & Seal Company, the US-based packaging provider, has launched its Peel Seam peelable lid on to the European market.

Available in 73 mm, 83 mm and 99 mm dimensions, Crown, Cork & Seal claim its new lid is quickly, easily and safely removed, leaving no sharp edges. The round lids are designed to run through conventional filling and seaming equipment, allowing food processors to cost-effectively convert from traditional can ends.

The lid is aimed at a variety of products including dry powders, fruits and retortable applications like pet food, fish salad, vegetables, meat recipe meals and cooking sauces. It consists of a thin, flexible panel, heat-sealed to a rigid steel or aluminum ring which is conventionally flanged for the usual double seaming process. The panel features a small tab for easy lifting and is constructed from aluminum foil, laminated with polypropylene film on the inside and lacquered on the outside.

The lid has also been designed for manufacturers to cost-effectively emboss with individual brand identities. An advanced gravure printing process ensures high quality results.

Crown Cork & Seal is a leading supplier of packaging products to consumer marketing companies around the world. World headquarters are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
