GrainPro’s SuperGrainbag of hermetic containers guard premium coffee beans and grains during storage and shipping.

The SGB Forte, with a 69-kg capacity, is sealed via heat welding and does not require a protective outer bag. According to GrainPro president Phillipe Villers, the bag helps protect the aroma, color, freshness and overall quality of the bean as it moves from its country of origin, to the US or other markets.

The SuperGrainbag is 500 times more airtight than normal plastics because of its proprietary inner layer,” he said. “Insects die from lack of oxygen, aflatoxin-producing molds cannot grow in low oxygen/high carbon dioxide, and moisture is prevented by its barrier enclosure.”

Founded in 1992 in Concord, Massachusetts, GrainPro offers a range of solar drying and airtight storage products. In addition to protecting coffee and grains during transport, the company’s protective products help prevent spoilage and contamination of seeds and dry foods to combat hunger in developing countries. Items are manufactured mainly at the firm’s Phillippines facility.
