Huhtamaki invests in paperboard growth in US
Huhtamaki has purchased a manufacturing facility in the US to produce paperboard packaging.
The total spend on the Ohio-site will be $60m including the site purchase, infrastructure improvement and machinery investment.
The initial focus on the site will be paper cups with operations planned to begin in the second half of 2013 and 200 jobs created by the end of 2016.
"By setting up this world class disposables manufacturing unit in Batavia we are creating a platform to expand operations as we grow," said Clay Dunn, executive vice president, North America.
"In addition to building a plant with optimal material and workflows we will be able to optimize the product range in existing manufacturing units.”
