International Paper backs food-pack brainstorming
Scheduled during the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Connect 2014 conference, the Pavilion is a special show section produced by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.
The Pavilion will showcase presentations and info resource centers, where materials firms like International Paper and other suppliers will lend insight and advice.
Charles D. Yuska, president and CEO of PMMI, said the Pavilion’s goal will provide FMI Connect attendees with helpful resources and valuable ideas.
“The point of the PMMI Possibilities in Packaging Innovation Pavilion is to showcase solutions for the future of packaging in retail,” he said.
Doug Endicott, marketing director for International paper said company representatives will join up with attendees and help them brainstorm on sustainability, design and other issues.
“We are very much looking forward to one-on-one conversations with the retailers who attend FMI Connect, helping them find innovative packaging solutions,” he said.
FMI Connect 2014, scheduled June 11-12 in Chicago, is expected to attract 15,000 food-focused firms (including retailers, wholesalers and trading partners) to put their heads together about challenges facing the food retail business.
