KHS will demonstrate its Innoprint machine, which can print directly onto PET bottles instead of using labels, at Drinktec 2013.

Manufacturers can send an image directly from their computer to the control unit of the machine, which can print labels onto bottles quickly and at the same time, for use for example in the beverage industry.

Containers are labeled with UV inks that produce color images with optical resolutions of 1,080 x 1,080 pixels and the machine can process PET bottle types ranging from 0.33 to 1.5 liters.

Container diameters can vary between 40 and 120 mm. The Innoprint is designed for a capacity of 36,000 PET bottles per hour.

Aseptic rotary machine

KHS, manufacturer of filling and packaging equipment for the beverage, food and non-food industries, will be exhibiting appliances in stretch blow molding, filling, and labeling at Drinktec in Munich, Germany, from September 16-20.

Other highlights at the show include the Innofill Can DVD generation of fillers and the Innosept Asbofill ASR, an aseptic rotary machine which reportedly ‘closes the last gap in the field of aseptic cold filling and together with its linear and rotary systems offers a complete aseptic program’.

Five versions of the Innosept Asbofill ASR program are available. Future plans include monoblocking the ASR series with InnoPET Blomax Series IV stretch blow molders.
