Industrial software providers GE Intelligent Platforms (GE) will sponsor this year’s Food Safety Summit Resource Center at Pack Expo in Chicago.

The Food Safety Summit provides food safety information through its Resource Center and has been a feature of Pack Expo for four years.

With 51% of the attendee base being part of the food industry, food safety is obviously a priority for Pack Expo attendees,” said Charles D. Yuska, president and CEO, PMMI.

GE will present a three-part series of educational sessions entitled, ‘The Top 10 Ways Software Can Help Assure Food Safety’.

Speakers from GE will include Katie Moore, Patrick Durante and Brenda Rompf and the event will focus on the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and the ways software can help food safety management systems deliver a safer food production environment and prevent recalls.

Communications along the production line and documentation are keys to successfully complying with FSMA rules. The GE sessions will provide insight into technologies that can assist with both,” said Katie Moore, global industry manager, food & beverage, GE.

Pack Expo is organised by The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI) and will take place from November 2-5.

The Food Safety Summit Resource Center schedule is available here.
