Shrink label film provides high clarity barrier

A new shrink-label film provides a high-clarity barrier for displaying food products.

Klöckner Pentaplast is targeting the film at food processors and retailers looking to make their products stand out on the shelves.

"This film has been engineered to provide improved crystal clarity allowing customers the advantage of gaining additional visual appeal over other shrink-label films available in the marketplace today," Klöckner Pentaplast stated.

The company's manager of its shrink-label films unit said the polyester product, branded Pentaprint E746/92 AS7, is designed for labels that are printed with 360 degree graphics and where 60 per cent shrinkage is sufficient.

It can be used for full-body shrink-sleeve labels and multi-pack applications. When applied to clear PET containers, the film can provide additional visual clarity and brilliance.

"In addition, Pentaprint E746/92 AS7 films exhibit a lower shrink force advantage that allows for a more uniform application on contour container configurations," the company stated. "Along with low coefficient-of-friction properties for easy processing, the film also has anti dust collector properties."

The new Pentaprint brand of film also offers gauge control, lay-flat properties, ink adhesion, and seaming ability, the company claimed.

The company's line of Pentaprint films are suitable for flexographic and gravure printing processes.
