Simionato launches imPACKED 2014 as Hayssen Flexible Systems acquires Schib Packaging

Simionato, a HayssenSandiacre company, which develops and produces linear and multihead weighers and vertical packaging machines, opened its doors to food processors and distributors this week.

The in-house machinery event called imPACKED (October 13-17) took place at the firm’s headquarters in Padova, Italy and saw live demonstrations of packaging machinery.

The show coincided with news Hayssen Flexible Systems has acquired Schib Packaging where it had a stand at imPACKED.

Schib produces horizontal flow-wrapping machines, automatic feeders and wrapping systems for sectors including candy, biscuits and bakery..

The deal will expand Hayssen Flexible Systems horizontal wrapper technology.

“By leveraging the combined experience and knowledge of our teams, we are confident the Schib product line will impact our global footprint in the wrapper marketplace,” said Mike May, president, Hayssen Flexible Systems.

Guests got to see the latest in VFFS (vertical form fill seal) packaging machines, including Simionato’s Logic system with infeed conveyor, multihead weigher, gantry, VFFS bag maker and outfeed conveyor.

Rose Forgrove flow wrapper models and Novus continuous motion with doy/quad capabilities were also on display.

HayssenSandiacre makes flexible packaging technologies and services for markets including candy, nut, bakery, snack food, frozen food, fresh produce and cheese industries.
