ITW Muller has introduced a rotary-ring stretch wrapper that merges compact size with flexibility, for food packaging operations with limited space but broad requirements.

The Octopus “C” automatic rotary ring stretch wrapper, which is compatible with the company’s high-end stretch films, is small enough to fit into a small space on a factory floor. The aluminium-frame construction reportedly facilitates durable operation as well as ease of maintenance.

Combining features

Michael Klear, sales and marketing director for ITW Muller, said the stretch wrapper is designed to help food packaging companies and other customers get the features they need from their packaging equipment in a smaller machine.

It takes up less space than most other wrappers and is easy to install--all while providing optimal load containment and minimizing film usage,” he said.

Klear said the stretch wrapper is designed to fulfil the need for a balance of features with low price point.

We are always looking for ways to meet growing market demands,” he said. “The Octopus “C” is ideal for manufacturers looking to increase productivity without compromising space and allowing the customer to stay within budget restraints.”

Simple operation

The Octopus “C” wrapper comes with the company’s Easy S film carriage. The component enables users to load film easily, optimizes pre-stretch performance, and keeps wear minimal, according to the manufacturer.

Compared side to side to traditional “W” wrap machines, the “S” pattern’s positive contact is said to boost pre-stretch levels, handle a larger range of films and helps keep reduce the overall cost of ownership.

Users can get output of up to 40 loads an hour, dependent upon load size and wrap pattern. Options such as a touchscreen interface, low-film alarm, maintenance ring locking and others are available.
