A new series of torque testers offers a cheaper method of testing seals at bottling plants, food and beverage companies and testing laboratories, the manufacturer claims.

Getting the seal right on bottled products ensuring the quality and safety of food and drinks.

Mark-10 said its new series CT Closure Torque Testers features an aluminum housing and rugged construction for durability under tough testing conditions.

Adjustable posts allow the tester to effectively grip a broad range of container shapes and sizes, while a set of optional jaws are available as an alternative gripping method.

An integrated indicator displays peak torque in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions for application and removal measurements.

The tester has an accuracy range of between plus or minus 0.5 per cent of the full scale. The sampling rate is 30 containers a second, making the CT precise enough for most hand operated closure torque tests.

Three capacities are available. The tester includes a set of four adjustable sample gripping posts.
