‘All natural’ packaging will be thrown into the spotlight at AFFI-Con (The American Frozen Food Institute Convention) next week.

Seminars include labeling trends and regulations, the cold chain, food innovation and trends, and GMO labeling.

Some of the exhibitors will be Tomra Sorting Solutions, Cablevey Conveyors, Flagship Food Group, and Georgie-Pacific Packaging.

Corey Henry, vice president communications, AFFI, told FoodProductionDaily.com the conference brings processors, logistics, suppliers, retailers and distributors from across the frozen food supply chain together.

Delegates are coming with specific business decisions that need to be made. They might be looking to source a frozen vegetable sorter, or other set goals for the year," said Henry.

There is also an exhibit section. Some firms are promoting products, others will be companies that do packaging along with distribution, warehousing, and equipment for processing.”

The question surrounding the term 'all natural' is whether it signifies less processed, healthier food free of artificial ingredients, or is just a meaningless marketing term. AFFI-Con speakers will provide an in-depth analysis of the future of the label.

AFFI-Con is on February 22 – 26 in San Diego, US. AFFI is a US trade association which promotes all parts of the frozen food industry.
