Heat and Control said its SureCoat Drum Breader is designed for a market that is demanding higher production rates. The company claims the breader uniformly coats poultry, meat, seafood and vegetable products at twice the capacity of other drum applicators.
The breader is available in models that can handle up to 1,800 kilograms per hour.
It features an all stainless steel coating drum designed for easy cleanup. The company has designed it without shafts or bearings over the product zone. The drum contains no plastic parts to wear and possibly contaminate product.
A metering hopper regulates breading feed to the drum, while a special system continuously removes dough lumps and re-circulates any unapplied mix.
"Recirculation of breading reduces production costs by minimising coating waste, while superior coating efficiency reduces reject rates to increase production profits," the company said.
The Drum Breader can be integrated with SureSpread, a discharge system that the company claims distributes coated product evenly across the full belt width of conveyors feeding fryers, ovens freezers or further coating equipment.
The integration can help reduce labour costs, the company claimed.
