The ConAgra food processing plant devastated by an explosion earlier this month will not resume production until August while its packaging section will be shuttered until further notice, the firm revealed.

The blast at company’s Slim Jim processing facility on June 9 that killed three and injured 40 may have been triggered by the accidental release of a flammable gas cloud that ignited during the installation of a water heater, federal investigators said Thursday.

ConAgra said the disruption to production caused by the explosion would not affect its long-term growth forecast as insurance costs will cover most of the shortfall. Slim Jim products produce annual revenue of about $200m.
