Egg plant to close axing 40 jobs
Michael Foods will close an egg processing facility in Altura, Minnesota, US.
The owner of Primera Foods plans to integrate its production at a plant in Britt, Iowa. The closure means about 40 employees will lose their jobs.
Diane Sparish, vice president, Corporate Communication, Michael Foods, confirmed the closure and said employees who will lose their jobs can apply for other positions within the company.
A subsidiary of Michael Foods, M.G. Waldbaum Co. recently closed on a purchase of Primera Foods for nearly $36 million.
