FlexLink to upgrade WLX Conveyor in 2015
FlexLink will launch a conveyor with improved hygiene for direct food contact in agreement with European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) guidelines next year.

The firm revealed the move while it displayed the wide belt stainless steel conveyor (WLX) and high capacity X65 platform at Emballage 2014 in Paris.

Pockets and crevices which collect dirt have been eliminated in the WLX and the design has minimal openings and no sharp points and edges, said the firm.

The conveyor platform is equipped with an integrated chain lifting function, providing access to the interior of the conveyor and attention has been paid to ensure the noise level is low.

“In 2015, we will launch the next step of this development enabling even higher levels of hygiene and food safety applicable for direct food contact in accordance with the EHEDG guidelines,” said Tommy Karlsson, innovation manager at FlexLink.

The X65 conveyor is designed for low friction and power consumption and a long service life.

Speed capacity is double compared to previous conveyor generations – 120 m/min – a capacity that meets higher requirements on line speed and reduced cost per produced unit.

FlexLink is part of Coesia, a group consisting 14 companies specialized in automated machinery and industrial processes.
