Lube additives designed for incidental food contact

New additives for lubricants are designed for incidental food contact, and can be used for designing a wide variety of oils used by the sector, its manufacturer claims.

Lubrizol said it developed the additives to meet the growing demand worldwide for lubricantadditives approved for incidental food contact uses.

Lubrizol says its 4300FG series of additives consists of components and blended fluids that provide maximum flexibilityin developing food-grade oils for use on plant equipment.

The series components include a tackifier and a thickener, antioxidants and corrosion inhibitors. Additive packages are designedfor products for diverse applications such as hydraulic oils, gear oils, worm gear oils and chainoils.

The packages may be used in technical white mineral oils, polyalphaolefins (PAO) or vegetableoils.
