Modular cart designed for returnable distribution

A modular plastic rolling cart is designed as a returnable distribution container for the food processing, food service and beverage industries, among others.

Remcon Plastics said its Rollet cart is made of polyethylene, making it "virtually" impervious to damage and easy to clean.

The construction also simplifies the x-ray scanning process in high-security environments, and could eliminate injuries caused by sharp edges and corners on metal carts, the company claimed.

Because of its modular design, workers can add shelving or change the configuration to accommodate various-sized loads.

The cart has a weight capacity of 175 pounds per shelf and 1100 total pounds for the unit.

The doors can be locked for secure transport and storage.

Rollet can also be broken down in minutes, without tools, for compact return shipment, the company stated.

The 32- by 28-inch cart is available in heights of 57 or 70 inches.

Rollet is available with RFID capabilities and a GPS tracking option is in development, said Peter Connors, president of Remcon Plastics.

Rollet has been available in the UK and Europe since 2003. Remcon acquired exclusive North American manufacturing and distribution rights earlier this year with US and European patents pending.

The company manufactures material handling containers for the food, pharmaceutical, and industrial markets.
