SlipNOT has joined the organizers of PROCESS EXPO event in donating to help feed the hungry.
The company, which specializes in metal safety flooring for food processing plants and other manufacturing enverionments, has given 37 cases of canned food to the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD). The gift was given through Defeat Hunger, a caompaign hosted by PROCESS EXPO producer, the Food Processing Supplier Association (FPSA).
The Foundation of FPSA also will be giving $75,000 to help fund the GFPD. PROCESS EXPO exhibitors are encouraged to donate one case of food per 1,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space.
Attendees can pitch in by bringing packaged food to Chicago’s McCormick Place to donate during the show, scheduled November 3-6. Food industry members unable to attend can participate in the FPSA’s virtual food drive by visiting www.fpsa.org and clicking on the Defeat Hunger button to give canned beans, fruit, pasta or other items.
The GCFD distributes food to needy Chicagoans throughout the year; last year it served the equivalent of 150,000 meals each day.
