PROCESS EXPO is joining forces with top science schools to offer education focused on HPP, nanotechnology and other food manufacturing topics.

Scheduled during the November 3-6 event in Chicago, PROCESS EXPO University comprises a series of free sessions covering a range of food-centric topics. The programming will feature speakers from the University of California at Davis, University of Idaho at Boise, University of Tennessee and University of Nebraska.

Higher learning

PROCESS EXPO is produced by the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA). The annual conference and exhibition brings together professionals from all aspects of processing, with a focus on advanced technology and business improvement.

The PROCESS EXPO program really speaks to the needs of our customers," said Tim O’Brien, chairman of FPSA’s Prepared Foods Council and vice president of sales for Urschel Laboratories Inc. “These schools have active extension programs through which they work with a wide range of food processors, gaining a good idea of the issues that these businesses face on a regular basis.”

Topical sessions

O’Brien added that FPSA strives to incorporate those relevant topics into the PROCESS EXPO agenda. Sessions in the prepared foods track focus on food safety (including the Food Safety Modernization Act), high-pressure processing, allergen control and risk assessment.

The PROCESS EXPO University sessions are free to any attendees registered for the main event. For more information, or to register for PROCESS EXPO (collocated with the International Dairy Show and North American Meat Association Outlook Conference), visit the show’s website.
