The company said it was to close its chicken cutting division in Letham and transferring operations to its West Midlands plant. A change in consumer demand towards whole birds away from chicken portions had triggered the move, said the firm.
A 2 Sisters spokesman said: "These are challenging economic times and unfortunately we must take some difficult and unpopular decisions to ensure solid foundations for the development of our UK business.
"The downturn in the economy and changes in consumer demand have rendered the cutting division at our Scottish site uneconomical. We regret the need for these changes in our business and the redundancy of around 95 employees."
