The Falcon has landed: Tomra pre-sorter for fresh cut industry
The Falcon is a pre-sorting machine for the fresh cut industry, which can detect unwanted material before products enter the processing line. It removes items from the field such as plastic, wood, soil clumps, droppings and stones.
The machine has an integrated infeed belt for flexible product handling, and high speed ejection fingers remove foreign material. LED illumination helps high resolution cameras detect different characteristics such as the chlorophyll level of the produce.
Roel Molenaers, product manager, Tomra Sorting Solutions, said, “Through the Falcon we get rid of most defects at an early stage to ensure that the sorters further down the line can work at a higher efficiency rate and can assure a final product with an outstanding high quality.”
The Falcon can be integrated into existing production lines.
