Processing machinery firm Urschel International has relocated its Netherlands office after the previous facility was ravaged by a storm.

Urschel International Ltd. Netherlands, the European subsidy of Urschel Laboratories Inc. USA, was struck by a strong tornado on November 3. Despite reopening less than 24 hours after the storm, staff later decided damage was great enough to necessitate the move.

The expanded office is situated near the food processing machinery manufacturer’s previous facility, in Wijk bij Duurstede. The shift to different digs marks the first move for the company in nearly two decades.

No injuries

Jan van der Horst, director for Urschel International Ltd. Netherlands, reported that the previous building thankfully was empty when the storm hit, so no personnel were injured.

Thank you to everyone who supported us after the tornado,” he said. “After 18 years at the other location, we look forward to moving into a brand-new building, with increased space to better service our customers.”

Cutting and slicing

Urschel International provides a range of food processing machinery, including cutting machines, slicers, dicers, milling equipment and other items. Its models include the E TranSlicer cutter, which is geared toward cutting vegetables, fruits and cooked meats.

The company is headquartered in Valparaiso, Indiana.
