The UK industry trade body, the Food and Drink Federation (FDF), has appointed Andrew Kuyk to the post of Director of Sustainability and Competitiveness.

The representatives of the UK food and drink sector said that Kuyk joins the FDF following a long career based mainly in the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and its predecessor MAFF where, among other roles, he held the position of Deputy Director of the Natural Environment Group.

The agency added that Kuyk also has a wide range of experience in domestic and international policy on agricultural, trade and food industry issues, including postings in Brussels and Paris.

The FDF said that his remit is to build on, and take forward the significant progress the agency has already made in the key areas of sustainability and competitiveness.
