The regional New South Wales government said on 21 December that it had approved the construction of a new warehouse, and conversion of existing buildings at the Northmead site for up to three new beverage production lines.
"Its main bottling operation at Northmead is reaching capacity and new facilities are needed to meet increasing demand and secure the jobs of 700 employees," said planning minister Frank Sartor.
The expansion is expected to generate a further 165 jobs.
CCA, which is 32 per cent-owned by Coca-Cola, has been diversifying its product range over recent years to include water, fruit juice, coffee, iced teas and packaged ready-to-eat fruit and vegetable products.
The new warehouse will have a floor space of approximately 11,900 square metres with the capacity to accommodate 55,000 pallets.
