However at the latest juncture the adoption of the legislation was delayed on a technicality after being found, at the last minute, to contain the wrong comitology procedure.
Lobbyists and regulatory experts have predicted that rectifying the oversight could take months and may re-open debate on the contentious issue of nutrient profiling.
