Bearing units designed with hygiene in mind, says SKF

New mounted bearing units and can resist citric acids, cooking fats, and most washdown chemicals and sanitizers used in food and beverage processing applications, says the manufacturer.

SKF said the MRC Marathon units incorporate lightweight and durable thermoplastic housings and have a cavity-free base so that they can be mounted flush with surfaces and gaps that could allow contaminants to collect are eliminated.

In addition, the units come with low-friction rubber seals as well as US Department of Agriculture (USDA) approved sealed-for-life lubricants “to enable virtually maintenance-free operation and promote extended service life,” added the Philadelphia-based company.
