Colour sensor's flexibility allows wider use

A new vision sensor detects colour differences, allowing it to be used for a wide variety of quality controls in food and drink manufacturing.

Banner Engineering claims its PresencePlus Pro-PROII includes a tool for detecting an infinite number of color variations accurately.

Sensors automates the inspection process, allowing lines to run at faster speeds and non-standard products to be removed more accurately.

The Pro-PROII comes with controllers and software to detect a wide variety of differences during inspections.

The Pro features a DIN-mountable controller with a compact camera. The colour cameras offer a 752 x 480 resolution for detecting a specific variations in the cameras field of view.

Companies also have a choice of a standard gray scale cameras are available for analysis at high speeds. The cameras are available sealed, to keep them dry during washdowns.

The company suggests the device can be used to inspect cases and cap colour on packaging lines, verify bar codes on metal parts, for verifying labels and positioning on bottles and for error proofing food packaging.
