A UK supermarket is recalling two batches of its own-label Scottish salmon after “high levels of Listeria monocytogenes” were found in some packs.

The Co-operative supermarket has issued a full recall on its 160g packs of the salmon. It added the potentially tainted batches have a ‘use by’ date on 21 and 24 December 2011.

The company said it believed only a small number of packs had been affected but warned consumers not to eat any product from the batches.
