Kellogg’s took initial action on January 14, including ceasing deliveries of peanut butter-containing products and removing items from store shelves. Two days later, it announced a recall of several peanut butter-based snacks and crackers.
The affected brand is Austin Quality Foods Toasty Crackers with Peanut Butter.
Kellogg’s president and CEO David Mackay said in a statement: “We apologize to our consumers and customers, and we can't emphasize enough our disappointment and deep regret about this situation…Events of the last week suggest there was a breach in this supplier’s process that is unacceptable to Kellogg, our customers and our consumers.”
