Rugged, waterproof industrial keyboards and mice have been developed for food processing, bakery and packaging environments, claims the manufacturer.

Man & Machine said its silicone keyboards have no openings around the keys or seams for food to collect and spoil, and the parts are easily cleaned using commercial disinfectants and cleaners.

Additional options include a magnetic attachment device, a back light for low light environments and variable length cables, according to the company.

Cleaning the keyboard and mouse involves holding the dual control keys down for three seconds to deactivate the devices and wiping them with a standard disinfectant, continued the developer.

Man & Machine claim that the keyboards can be tailored to suit specific applications.
