Eriez has unveiled its latest x-ray product inspection system to provide protection for packaging applications.

The E-Z Tec XR-Pack system can identify contaminants and scan for missing or broken products to provide product and packaging integrity and protect customers.

It effectively inspects for foreign objects (metal, glass, stone, bone and some plastics), count, seal integrity, weight, shape, item position and presence/absence of items, said Eriez.

Inspection rate

The system offers inspection rates of up to 1500 units per minute or 200 feet per minute (fpm), a choice of reject device and mixed product and multi-lane inspection capabilities.

It includes tool-less disassembly for cleaning, up-shoot beam geometry, a 12 to 16 inch food grade belt, low profile design and auto learn for set up.

The packaging industry faces unique challenges during processing: how to protect product purity and handle materials in the most efficient and economical way,” said the firm.

“Eriez offers solutions to customer problems, with superior equipment and services, application know–how, and technical problem–solving in areas of the packaging process such as protecting machinery from tramp metal damage and material handling.”

Eriez also offers E-Z Tec XR-Bulk X-Ray Inspection Systems for bulk flow applications, E-Z Tec XR-SS X-Ray Inspection Systems for upright packages and containers and E-Z Tec XR-Clean X-Ray Inspection Systems for meat, poultry and sanitary end uses.

Metal Separator

Eriez recently introduced the Model FF4 Metal Separator which it claimed could reduce expensive machinery failure and minimize production downtime.

Ferrous and nonferrous metal contaminants can be detected when enclosed in the product and are rejected through the separator’s “Quick Flap” reject unit.
