The consumer packaged food giant has approved ABC Research Laboratories as one of its certified food safety testing providers.
ABC Research Laboratories, a comprehensive food safety laboratory based in Florida, has landed approval as a GMI Pesticide Multi-residue Analysis MRA approved laboratory by food brand owner General Mills. To land certification, the food safety testing provider reportedly was subjected to rigorous testing itself in order to prove its mettle as an analytical service provider.
Gillian Dagan, ABC Research Laboratories chief science officer, told FoodProductionDaily the designation serves as proof of General Mills’ dedication to ensuring the safety of its products; it also endorses the analytical company’s capabilities to test food products.
“As an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, we follow the strictest standards to ensure each of our clients receives the most accurate results through the best recognized practices in testing,” she said. “After the rigorous application process with General Mills, we are honored to have those practices recognized as we continue to improve our services to our clients."
Now that it has been added to General Mills’ GMI Pesticide Multi-Residue Analysis MRA Approved Laboratory list, ABC Research will be designated a preferred testing laboratory for any of the multiple vendors that provide ingredients for General Mill's 89 individual brands.
General Mills keeps the exclusive list of companies comprising the whole GMI Pesticide Multi-Residue Analysis MRA Approved Lab list under wraps. The roster in its entirety is only for the eyes of General Mills suppliers; however, individuals can request confirmation of a specific company’s presence on the list.
ABC Research Laboratories reportedly is one of the of the largest food testing labs in the US. The firm provides a range of analytical services to the food and beverage industry, including pathogen testing, pesticide residue testing, nutritional labeling, FDA detention resolution, and appliance benchmark testing.
