Nestlé Canada is recalling five of six varieties of Buitoni brand pizzas following two consumer complaints that the products contain pieces of metal.

The products include selected production lots of Buitoni Funghi Rustico 365g, Buitoni Margherita 350g, Buitoni Pepperoni Diavolo 340g, Buitoni Pollo Toscano 350g and Buitoni Spinaci Fresca 360gg.

The recall does not include the Buitoni Vegetale Grille variety.

Two consumer complaints have been reported in Europe but, as yet, none have been reported in Canada about the products which originated in Germany.

Nestlé Canada said: “We have informed the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and communicated our decision to recall the product. We are immediately informing all of our customers who received these production codes and arranging for all product to be removed from store shelves.”
