AVT has partnered with Quality By Vision to develop CoatScan, which it claims is a first-of-its-kind inspection for sheet coating presses.

CoatScan made its official debut at AVT’s booth during the CANNEX & FILLEX Conference, from June 1-4 in Guangzhou, China.

Defect detection of the overall coating area

It also showcased Titan, a quality assurance and process control system for metal decorating applications that detects print defects, including color variations, mis-registration (including varnish mis-registration), misprints, spots, incorrect characters, streaks, scratches, splashes, scumming, edges and bends.

Jaron Lotan, CEO, AVT, told FoodProductionDaily its technology for the metal decorating sector aligns with the industry’s need for increased product quality and workflow efficiency.

AVT has significantly increased its installed base in this sector in less than a year and we are confident our partnership with Quality By Vision will allow us to improve our customer service and overall industry influence,” he said.

CoatScan provides coating margin monitoring and sheet positioning with defect detection of the overall coating area and indications of coating thickness variations.

The product will be provided exclusively through AVT.

Control systems in the canning industry

Quality By Vision has nearly 20 years of experience in the production and supply of quality control systems in the canning industry.

The company can lay claim to several industry milestones, including recognition as the first to introduce a fully automatic double seam inspection system.

Three years ago, it began placing emphasis on line inspection and introduced QVIS-C2, a dual-camera machine vision system for 100% inside inspection of food cans.

The system uses two high-resolution cameras to inspect all aspects on three-piece welded cans of any size.
