Brillopak has unveiled a robotic palletiser aimed at solving the challenges of supplying the retail sector for the fruit and vegetable packers.
The Brillopak Compact C211 can place a variety of container formats including crates, cases and trays onto pallets.
Brillopak research found that pressure on margins require companies to seek labour and cost reductions but there is increased focus on health and safety liabilities around lifting of cases, crates and pallets.
The firm also said that while automation has been mostly adopted the end of line crate packing and palletising is still largely a manual process, potentially due to a lack of space in packhouses.
The machine can palletise crates and cases at up to 30 per minute dependent on application.
