Grocery suppliers are being asked for their feedback on how the regulated retailers are complying with the Groceries Supply Code of Practice and on the impact of the Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA).

This is the second survey YouGov has conducted on behalf of the GCA. I want to know how retailer practices have changed over the past 12 months. All feedback is anonymous,” said Christine Tacon, adjudicator, GCA.

I hear from suppliers throughout the year but my annual survey is a crucial tool in creating the broadest possible picture of the relationship between retailers and their suppliers.”

The Groceries Supply Code of Practice regulates interactions between the 10 largest supermarkets with an annual turnover of £1bn and their direct suppliers.

Tacon has the power to launch investigations into suspected breaches of the Code, including those arising from confidential complaints. In the event of a breach, she can make recommendations against a supermarket, ask them to publish details of their breach, or impose a fine.

The 2014 survey helped the Adjudicator to identify her top issues and shaped the GCA agenda for subsequent months.

The survey is open to trade associations and other representative organisations and direct and indirect suppliers to the retailers via the GCA website until May 1, 2015.

Results of the survey will be reported at the GCA conference in Westminster on June, 22, 2015.
