The awards are in their sixth year, and are intended to recognise initiatives that have a positive affect on communities. In addition to environment, the other categories are: Education; Local Community; and Workplace Community.

Deadline for entries is 22nd May, and winners will be announced at a luncheon on 15th October.

The judging panel this year includes Professor Robert Pickard, chairman of independent consumer body ‘Which?’ and Lorraine Hendle, publishing director of The Grocer.
