In the UK, Heinz is recalling jars and cans of its baby food amid concern they pose a risk to children allergic to milk in the UK.

The company said varieties which contain tiny amounts of milk were wrongly labelled as milk-free. It is advising parents to throw away the contents and return the label for a refund.

Heinz said the products were "unsuitable for a very small number of infants who are allergic or intolerant to cow's milk and dairy products."

The products affected include four varieties for babies aged from four months. They are: 128g cans of country vegetables and rice, and carrots and lamb with rosemary; 128g jars of Lancashire hotpot, and 125g jars of organic potatoes and green beans.

The three varieties for babies of seven months and above affected are: 190g jars of organic tomato and beef sauce for pasta; organic vegetables and lentils; and organic vegetables and turkey pasta with peppers.

The last product affected is 250g jars of Sunday lunch garden vegetables and lamb for infants of ten months and above.
