A US employee of Crown Cork & Seal in North Portland was killed in a work accident, a safety spokesman confirmed.
The employee, whose name was not released, was crushed by a piece of machinery and died of head injuries, according to the report.An Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspector was investigating the accident at the plant.
Crown Cork & Seal is an international manufacturer of beverage and food cans and other packaging materials. The company operates more than 200 plants.
