GRSI claims that its FastTrak PI (packaging integration) allows manufacturers to integrate all aspects of a company's warehouse system - from packaging to material handling equipment - into a more manageable program.
Such software helps automate supply chain processes, possibly lowering costs for manufacturers and providing a more accurate picture of their operations.
In designing this software, GRSI says that it has looked in particular to address manufacturer concerns over purchasing either new or second hand warehouse equipment whilst ensuring compatibility with existing systems at the site.
The company claims that in aiming to remove this element of uncertainty for equipping warehousing, it has therefore developed a custom-made comprehensive integration system it says is based on extensive site experience.
This experience is supplied by GRSI staff, who asses the specific needs of each individual manufacturer in line with their budgetary limitations as well looking at their current warehouse operations, according to the company.
With the system in place, the manufacturer says it can then construct the required modules and other applications to integrate equipment at the site.
GRSI claims that it also supplies training for warehouse staff regarding the operations, while also providing an all year round 24 hour a day support service.
The FastTrak PI system is the latest extension of its cooperation with a number of packagers and other equipment makers to better meet customer needs.
GRSI works with a number of global manufacturers and organisations including ConAgra-Goodmark.
