In the UK, Veetee Rice has renewed the packaging of its American Easy Cook Rice using FFP Packaging Solutions' silver coated packaging.
The pack features FFP's Hi-brite silver coating, a new development that allows a pack to shine like a metallised one in selected areas. Applied like an ink, Hi-Brite gives a lower cost solution to a problem that previously had called for expensive pattern de-metallisation of a film.
Veetee used Hi-Brite to give a metallic sheen to the pack while providing a window in the side of the pack to measure product level.
Other packs in the range had used a gravure print, and Veetee was offered flexographic print to match its existing print quality, while offering a commercial advantage.
According to Veetee's purchasing manager, Justin Harris: "This is a hugely important range for us and we have been delighted both with the way in which this work has been conducted and the result that FFP has achieved".
