Dumb idea Rory. Food prices are high due to crop failures, due to cold weather. We cannot in future use our productive land to make plastics and biofuels.
To make matters worse, when thet convert the sugars to alcohol, they produce copious amounts of that "pollutant" called carbon dioxide.
