Tom, I just wanted to respond. I’m a 5th generation butcher and have been manufacturing pork sausages for the UK and Ireland food service for well over 30 years. Whilst I have not once claimed to be an ‘expert’, I am well placed to put forward my thoughts on this, not only because it directly concerns my industry, but this ruling is something I have been fighting for this past decade. As a manufacturer and business man, I want to be as vocal as possible in my disagreement with the BMPA, especially as their attitudes on this have been so widely reported. I can assure you I certainly do have an agenda when it comes to DSM, the same one I’ve had for ten years or more.
