Pretium Packaging, which manufactures rigid bottles and containers for food and beverage applications, has been acquired by Genstar Capital.

Founded in 1992, Pretium Packaging manufactures custom plastic containers and closures, focusing on packaging requiring technical expertise and proprietary tooling. The Missouri-based firm’s customer base ranges from small privately owned producers to Fortune 500 food, beverage, pharma, and personal care companies.

Pretium has built a strong reputation with its customers for providing highly customized packaging solutions that encompass industry-leading customer service, quality, reliability and innovation,” said Pretium Packaging CEO George Abd.

David Golde, head of Genstar’s packaging-centered investment activity, said Pretium Packaging’s market performance and technical capabilities make the company a good strategic partner.

We are attracted to Pretium's long-standing commitment to innovation, customer service and manufacturing excellence that have created strong customer relationships and provide the runway for continued growth,” he said.

The acquisition is expected to be complete in June. Full terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
