Michelman celebrated the opening of its Advanced Materials Collaboration Center (AMCC) at the company’s global headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio recently.

The AMCC will develop water-based coatings, surface additives and polymers. It includes six laboratories and office space for staff and associates.

In June of 2012, the State of Ohion, through its Third Frontier Fund believed in our vision and stepped forward with a $2.5m grant, which when combined with our own $20m investment allowed us to build this facility,” said Steve Shifman, president/CEO, Michelman.

At our core, we are a science organization. With the AMCC, we have created an environment that exceeds our scientist’s expectations, helps us attract the best and brightest, lets them do their best work, and helps us retain our outstanding talent.”

Simulation equipment in Michelman’s pilot laboratory will allow the company to accurately observe how products perform under end-use conditions, and use that information to improve formulations to reduce product concept to commercialization time.
